Situations Requiring Disciplinary Action

STORAGE SERVICE TERMS

If you are currently staying in Student Housing and have renewed your registration for the next academic year, the Student Housing Management will provide a paid storage area so that you do not have to transport your belongings from the dormitory to your home during the summer holiday and bring them back again upon return.

Although all necessary security measures will be taken, the University and the Student Housing Management shall not be held responsible for any items that are lost, stolen, or damaged while in summer storage. Therefore, it is recommended that items placed in storage be insured and that belongings of special value to the student not be stored.

Residents who wish to benefit from the storage service may not store liquid or perishable items (food, beverages, etc.), electronic devices (laptops, MP3 players, musical instruments, etc.), or valuable items (jewellery, money, etc.). Even if such items are placed in storage, residents may not claim any rights for potential damage and are deemed to have accepted any damage that may occur, including responsibility for covering such damage.

Televisions and fragile items will be accepted only if wrapped in PVC material and delivered in properly packaged condition.

The maximum allocated storage space per person is 0.5 m³ and a maximum of three (3) suitcases/boxes. Items that occupy significant space, such as portable wardrobes, may be accepted only with the approval of the management and depending on storage availability.

Residents must lock the boxes and suitcases in which they place their belongings or pack and secure them safely. In addition, each item must display the resident’s full name, student number, and contact address, as stated in the “Storage Service Terms” signed with the Student Housing Coordination Office.

To ensure maximum possible security, once the summer storage is locked in June, it will remain locked until the dormitories reopen in September. During this locked period, students will not be able to retrieve their belongings from storage.

During the summer holiday period, Student Housing supervisors and staff may enter the storage area for security, maintenance, cleaning, and general inspection purposes.

The University and the Student Housing Management cannot be held responsible for damages or losses arising from natural disasters (such as fire, earthquake, flood, etc.) that may occur during the storage service, and no claims may be made.

Residents who wish to use the storage service must list the contents in their own handwriting when filling out the storage service agreement, fully complete their personal information, and sign the form (e.g., “5 clothing items, 1 television”).

This agreement is a time-limited agreement. The University and the Student Housing Management shall not be held responsible for items not collected at the end of the service period or for any damage that may occur during this period. Those who benefit from the storage service are deemed to have accepted the rules stated in this agreement. This agreement becomes valid upon signature and expires with the reopening of the dormitories and the beginning of the fall semester.

If the student benefiting from the storage service does not collect their stored belongings by the specified date at the end of the storage service period, the items will be kept until the dormitories reopen (the start of the fall semester), and the student agrees to pay a penalty of 5 TL per day. This amount will be deducted from the student’s existing deposit. Items not collected from storage within 30 days from the beginning of the new academic term will be removed from storage with an official report and sent for recycling.

This agreement is prepared in two copies. One copy is given to the student who renews their dormitory registration and benefits from the storage service. The other copy is retained by the Student Housing Management. The resident and/or their guardian must bring a copy of the form when collecting belongings during the fall semester.

At the end of the storage service period, the stored items will be delivered only to the person named in the storage service agreement and/or their guardian, upon presentation of valid identification.
